Burnout Resiliency

January 31, 2023 to March 23, 2023

Activity description

Burnout is a state of emotional, physical and mental exhaustion that can be caused by excessive and prolonged stress. The daily stressors associated with providing care can often lead health care professionals (HCPs) to feel emotional exhaustion, decreased empathy, reduced effectiveness, decreased work-related fulfillment and a lack of accomplishment. This activity encompasses learning, practice, and shared exploration of burnout, how to deal with the experience of it, build resiliency and work to change the conditions causing burnout. It is led by a UMass Medical School Certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher and includes didactic information about the research of burnout resiliency and guided meditation.
