Fetal growth restriction (FGR) is a leading cause of infant morbidity and mortality affecting 10 percent of pregnancies. This activity will identify the multiple etiologies that may lead to this complex obstetric condition and provide an overview of current standards of care, including clinical approaches to prevention, screening and antenatal testing. It will include discussion about evaluation practices, interventional management strategies, options for neonatal delivery and related complications and long-term sequelae.

This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of nurses, nurse practitioners, PAs and physicians who have an interest in fetal growth restriction.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this educational activity, participants should be able to:
- Discuss the terminology surrounding FGR vs small for gestational age (SGA).
- Identify the etiologies of intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR).
- Describe perinatal risks, associated screening practices and approaches to the prevention of IUGR.
- Recognize optimal management approaches to IUGR and antenatal testing, including inpatient and outpatient testing options.
- Define potential IUGR-related consequences to the neonate.
