Health Equity Foundations: Ensuring No One Is Left Behind
Activity description
This on-demand course introduces foundational and applied knowledge to help ensure the health system works better for everyone. It begins by defining health equity and distinguishing it from equality, then guides participants through the root causes and manifestations of health disparities. Learners will explore frameworks for identifying and mitigating health inequities, with a focus on how social drivers of health (SDOH) and health-related social needs (HRSN) shape health outcomes across all populations.
As participants move through the course, they’ll gain the tools to recognize when health disparities exist and apply strategies to advance health equity in their daily work. The content emphasizes how integrating health equity principles into everyday roles and responsibilities can lead to improved health outcomes and greater organizational value. By the end, learners will understand the urgency of addressing health disparities and renew their commitment to ensuring no one is left behind.
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of case managers, dentists, dental allied staff, dietitians, nurse practitioners, nurses, optometrists, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, PAs, physicians and other health care professionals who have an interest in learning about health equity.
