Activity description 

A successful workplace culture—whether team- or enterprise-related—is defined by its ability to engage its members and provide a set of shared core values. A culture defines the organization as a whole and has the power to create a respectful and empowering workplace. This activity will provide participants with the tools and knowledge necessary to evaluate, and develop practices to improve, their team’s efficiency and engagement in alignment with the mission of the enterprise. Communication and collaboration practices that can build a culture of inclusion, purpose and engagement will be outlined.

Target Audience

This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of nurses, nurse practitioners, PAs, physicians and non-clinical staff who have an interest in building culure and ways of working.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Assess the overall culture of a team and enterprise to determine the levels of inclusion, purpose, engagement and empowerment felt by individuals in the workplace.
  • Examine how rituals and processes can be enhanced or adapted to improve efficiency and engagement.
  • Explore communication and collaboration practices that help to create and/or improve upon an open culture of engagement within the enterprise.

Attendance
