Lethal Means Safety: A Critical Focus in Suicide Prevention
Activity description
Firearms are the most common means used in suicide, making lethal means safety a critical focus in suicide prevention. Lethal means safety is an evidence-based intervention aimed at increasing the time and space between the onset of suicidal thoughts and access to firearms and other lethal means during moments of crisis. This live webcast offers actionable strategies and techniques to help participants engage in conversations about voluntary secure storage, which plays an important role in reducing suicide risk and saving lives.
It is designed to meet the educational needs of nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists/pharmacy technicians, physicians, PAs, psychologists, social workers, therapists and other health care professionals (HCPs) who have an interest in the importance of addressing lethal means safety in suicide prevention.
