This activity, part of the ReadyMed Update Newsletter Series, will focus on the latest medical updates within the practice of urgency medicine. Participants will be provided with an overview of current best practices and guideline updates for urgent care to increase provider competency and awareness in all aspects of practice. Topics to be discussed this month include cauda equina syndrome (CES), tourniquet removal tools, cervical radiculopathy, dysuria, endocarditis, cluster headaches, parathyroid disorders, transient ischemic attack (TIA) management and others.
This activity is jointly provided by Optum Health Education and Reliant Medical Group.
There was no commercial support received for this activity.
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of physicians, nurse practitioners, and PAs who have an interest in updating their knowledge of current standards and practices in the field of urgency medicine.
At the end of this educational activity, participants should be able to:
- Discuss the latest updates on topics including dysuria, endocarditis, cluster headaches, TIA management, tourniquet removal, parathyroid disorders and more.
- Identify strategies to integrate these updates into current practices at their urgent care or primary care clinics.
- Share learned knowledge of these practices and changing guidelines in Urgency Medicine with their health care team members.

The American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) accepts credit from organizations accredited by the ACCME.
The participant will be awarded up to 2.00 contact hour(s) of credit for attendance and completion of supplemental materials.
The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Program (AANPCP) accepts credit from organizations accredited by the ACCME and ANCC.
A certificate of attendance will be provided to learners upon completion of activity requirements, enabling participants to register with licensing boards or associations that have not been pre-approved for credits. To apply for credit types not listed above, participants should use the procedure established by the specific organization with which they wish to obtain credit.
