
Advances in Trauma Care: Understanding Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Complex PTSD, and Effective Treatment

This activity is intended ONLY for those who attended in the live presentation on March 26 in Hadley, MA.
This activity will review advances in the understanding of PTSD and Complex PTSD, with a focus on accurate diagnosis, engagement and evidence-based treatment. Designed for behavioral health providers across disciplines, it will emphasize diagnostic distinctions, common misconceptions and effective treatment approaches that improve patient outcomes.
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, and counselors, who are interested in improving trauma assessment, diagnosis, engagement, and evidence-based treatment of PTSD and Complex PTSD.
At the end of this educational activity, participants should be able to:
- Differentiate PTSD and Complex PTSD using current diagnostic frameworks and clinical indicators.
- Apply evidence-based engagement strategies to improve initiation and retention in trauma treatment.
- Select appropriate evidence-based trauma treatments based on patient presentation and phase of care.
