Heart Failure: Definitions, Guideline Directed Medical Therapy (GDMT), and Comorbidities
Heart failure (HF) can have a devastating impact on the quality-of-life of individuals. With a focus on evidence-based medicine, this activity will review current practices and advances in the management of HF. Potential ethical issues that may arise with individuals and health care professionals (HCPs) will also be reviewed, and, through the use of case study examples, optimal clinical management strategies for HF will be explored.

This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of social workers, counselors, therapists, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and physicians interested in HF.
At the end of this educational activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify current practices and recent advances in the management of HF based on evidence-based medicine.
- State best practices for HF management through the use of case study examples.
- Recognize when consultation with cardiologist is recommended.
- Explore potential medical ethical issues that may arise between the individual and HCP.
