Wound Management: Identifying Risks, Complications and Treatments
Wound management involves a comprehensive care plan with consideration of all factors contributing to and affecting the wound and the individual. Best outcomes are generated by a multidisciplinary approach to care. This activity will review clinical features and treatment options for wound management, as well as identify risk factors for infection and complications that may impact healing. Case studies will offer examples of clinical wound management strategies for optimal outcomes.
At the end of this educational activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify the factors that impact wound healing and may increase the risk of wound infection.
- Explore clinical features, complications of and treatment options for wound management.
- Discuss the importance of a multidisciplinary approach for optimal wound management.
- Identify optimal clinical management strategies for wound management through case study examples.
