Promoting Resilience Through Connection with Nature

Activity description

This on-demand webcast will explore the growing body of evidence supporting the integration of nature-based discussions and interventions in therapeutic settings. Gain insights into how incorporating nature into therapy can enhance patient outcomes by fostering a deeper understanding of the scientific basis behind nature’s positive effects on mental health and ultimately improving overall well-being. The role of ecotherapy and other nature-based interventions as effective tools for managing mental health conditions will also be examined, with an emphasis on the importance of nature in building psychological resilience. Participants will be equipped to thoughtfully integrate nature-based strategies into their clinical practice, supporting holistic and sustainable mental health care.

This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of case managers, counselors, educators, psychologists, social workers, therapists and other BHCPs who care for individuals within the Medicaid population.

At the end of this educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe how nature positively impacts physical and mental health with supporting evidence of the integration of nature-based discussions and interventions in therapeutic settings.
  • Identify nature-based interventions that offer patients effective ways to manage their mental health.
  • Discuss how incorporating nature in your work promotes increased resilience.
  • Discuss strategies to collaborate effectively with interprofessional teams to promote overall mental wellness, including engaging in regular team meetings, sharing insights from different disciplines, and developing integrated care plans that address the holistic needs of patients.
