Monkeypox Explained: Causes, Incidence, Pain/Symptom Management, At Risk Populations and Outcomes

Activity description

Monkeypox (MP) has been declared a public health emergency in the United States due to a growing number of cases there and abroad. A sudden surge in cases in the month prior to this recording sparked a number of questions surrounding the nature of the disease, how it is transmitted, and available prophylactic options. This activity will provide participants with the latest information on the status of the MP outbreak, including its origin, at-risk populations, efficacy of available vaccines, pain and symptom management, risks of delayed diagnosis and mortality. Emerging research on MP prevention and treatment interventions will also be discussed.
