Medical providers are burning out in record numbers. The job requires providers to work thoughtfully in diverse teams, overcome the moral injury of work demands, and engage with patients from different backgrounds. Well intentioned individuals are offering meditation, yoga, and EHR smart sets. What we really need are different ways of seeing. Medical humanities through poetry, film, art and podcasts can offer avenues to understanding colleagues and patients who are different from ourselves, inspire creativity in our care, and help us thrive as clinicians. This talk will offer interactive examples of groups joining through art and poetry.

Target Audience
This activity is designed to meet the educational needs of nurse practitioners, PAs and physicians who have an interest in learning about medical humanities.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this educational activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe the role of medical humanities improving teamwork, curiosity and creativity in health care, and reducing burnout.
- Utilize medical humanities to identify patients, learners, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Visit local institutions to engage in humanities to achieve improved teamwork and reduce burnout.
