What Is Trauma-Informed Care and Why Is it Critical in Health Care Today?
This panel discussion will identify ways in which HCPs can incorporate the principles of trauma-informed care into their practice. The ACE study and the connection between adverse childhood experiences and trauma will be reviewed. Methods in which health care professionals (HCPs) can interact with individuals while expressing understanding and empathy in trauma-informed ways to promote healing and reduce the risk of retraumatization will also be discussed.

This activity will identify the multifaceted effects of past and continuous trauma—including collective and racial trauma—on the well-being of individuals, cultures, communities, and social environments. It will review racism and oppressive tendencies and present strategies to skillfully manage difficult racial and cultural situations and their associated stressful responses. Importantly, trauma management therapies and practices will be identified, along with approaches to building communal anti-racist culture within the workplace.

Selecting Appropriate Treatments Based on Geriatric and Fragility Assessments
This activity will provide an overview of geriatric and frailty assessment tools that can assist in guiding cancer- and transplant-related decision making through the risk stratification of older individuals before therapy is initiated. Data surrounding the relationship among increased age, geriatric- and frailty-assessment results, and disease outcomes will also be explored. Key considerations in how to best incorporate these sometimes time-intensive assessments into practice will be outlined, along with discussion of how interprofessional collaboration among members of the health care team in the creation of care plans can facilitate quality care.

Preventing Falls in Older Adults: Risk Factors and Interventions
This activity will discuss The Strategies to Reduce Injuries and Develop Confidence in Elders (STRIDE) trial, which aims to evaluate the effectiveness of evidence-based strategies to reduce serious fall-related injuries,.
