The Medical Impact of Psychiatric Medications

Activity description 

While psychiatric medication can help with symptoms and contribute to recovery, it can also impact negatively on the physical health and wellbeing of an individual. Effective medication options exist for the treatment of most major psychiatric disorders, but they also can come with side effects. This activity will identify the types of medications used to treat psychiatric disorders and their potential side effects and discuss standard medical parameters that need monitoring with some of these psychiatric medications.
