Get-Acquainted Reception

Relax and unwind with us at a Wisconsin-style tailgate party in the comfort of the Atrium at the Health Sciences Learning Center. You’ll enjoy complimentary drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and beautiful music as you mingle with colleagues and get acquainted with staff members from the UW Health Transplant Program, UW Health Blood and Bone Marrow Transplant Program, American Family Children’s Hospital, and UW Health Organ Procurement Organization. Gather information and ideas from exhibitors, and/or join others to take a tour and enjoy hands-on experiences at UW’s new Clinical Simulation Center.

Thirty-minute tours will be offered during the get-acquainted reception beginning at 4:30 p.m. Space is limited. Registration is required.

One of the most challenging aspects of training for health professionals is providing robust and realistic learning opportunities to prepare for actual patient care situations. Join us for a hands-on tour of UW Health's new state-of-the-science clinical simulation facility to see how physicians are using extremely high-tech, life-like mannequins to direct the future of medical education. Capable of conducting interdisciplinary health care scenarios, the new program creates educational activities involving technical, cognitive, behavioral and communication skills, as well as team training via simulation.
