  • Review blood/marrow transplantation (BMT), focusing on matched related-, unrelated-, and alternative donors for BMT and the determining factors when selecting a donor and stem cell source for an allogeneic BMT.
  • Examine the current treatment and management strategies for multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), lymphoma, and pediatric inherited inborn errors of metabolism.
  • State emerging trends in novel uses of cellular therapies.
  • Review the rationale and transplant outcomes in patients with severe epidermolysis bullosa.
  • Recognize the current management and challenges of care for patients with cystic fibrosis, interstitial lung disease (ILD), pediatric congenital heart disease, and hepatitis C.
  • Explain the impact of the paired-exchange process on increasing the number of transplants and how high donor-specific antibodies affects the patient’s ability to get a transplant.
  • Relate emerging trends in transplantation, focusing on lung transplantation and pediatric total pancreatectomy with islet auto-transplantation.
  • Identify ethical issues surrounding transplantation.
