Advancing Care in GVHD: Strategies for Improved Outcomes
ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
This activity consists of a recorded presentation from the "Essentials of Oncology and Transplant Management for the Health Care Team" conference held in Scottsdale, Ariz., April 8-9, 2025.
Examine current management approaches and recent advancements in the treatment of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). Participants will learn about standard and emerging GVHD therapies, including novel therapeutic agents, and will explore advances in monitoring techniques with biomarkers and imaging along with new strategies for the early detection and management of GVHD and its complications.

Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of case managers, coders, dietitians, dietetic technicians, managed care nurses, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, PAs, physicians, psychologists, social workers, transplant coordinators and other health care professionals.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this educational activity, participants should be able to:
- Review current treatment approaches to GVHD, including standard therapies, prophylactic strategies, the use of corticosteroids and emerging prophylactic regimens.
- Discuss the latest FDA-approved novel therapeutic agents and their impact on managing steroid-refractory GVHD.
- Identify how multidisciplinary care approaches to managing the complex needs of GVHD patients can improve overall outcomes.
- Describe emerging therapies and monitoring techniques for GVHD, including gene editing, new drug developments, and advancements in biomarkers and imaging techniques.
