The Methodist J.C. Walter Jr. Transplant Center is one of the most active and most highly respected centers of its kind. It brings together the expertise of highly trained and experienced physicians and transplant professionals, and the resources of one of the top hospitals in the nation. Its clinical expertise is combined with innovative research programs, state-of-the-art technology and a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of end-stage organ failure and transplantation.

The Methodist Hospital Outpatient Center—one of the country’s largest—is dedicated to outpatient services and procedures. The 26-floor, 1.6 million-square-foot facility opened in 2010 and offers a healing environment that caters to personal preferences, addressing the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of each patient.

MITIE—a 35,000-square-foot interactive, simulation-based surgical training center—was created to help practicing physicians acquire new high-tech skills including image-guided therapies, surgical robotics and new techniques. MITIE incorporates a virtual hospital for re-creating high-risk-patient care environments, a procedural skills lab for hands-on training with state-of-the-art models, and a suite of 15 operating rooms for image-guided procedure research, robotic surgery, and technology development.
