Series description

OptimalCare focuses on the quadruple aim to improve patient outcomes while decreasing low value or wasted care. The OptimalCare Grand Rounds series focuses on aspects of care important to primary care providers (PCPs) and their patients. This multisession, accredited series will provide PCPs with actionable content that addresses evidence-based diagnosis and treatment approaches for many of the high-priority complex diseases frequently encountered in practice. Discussion of emerging clinical evidence and strategies to improve care will enable PCPs to gain new perspectives and increase their competency in providing care that is optimal for their patients.

2022 Continuing education

Earn 1.00 CME/NCPD credit for each activity completed. This series is designed to meet the educational needs of physicians, PAs, nurses, nurse practitioners, and other HCPs who have an interest in increasing their knowledge of the current state of care for many of the highly visible and complex diseases encountered in daily health care practice.

Description: This activity will provide participants with insight into newer approaches that effectively integrate standard interventions into management plans tailored to the individual’s particular symptoms, review the value of pulmonary rehabilitation, and outline the effective evaluation of therapeutic responses. Emerging trends in asthma and COPD management and new pharmacologic agents and strategies will be highlighted, with a review of the physiological aspects of these diseases targeted by newer therapies.

Activity Description: Degenerative joint disease (DJD) and chronic lower back pain (CLBP) are two leading causes of disability that can significantly impact function and quality of life. This activity will focus on evidence-based management approaches to advanced DJD and CLBP. It will discuss the effectiveness of current common interventions, including the utility and role of multimodal rehabilitation therapy, epidural steroid injections (ESI), joint fusion procedures, and nerve stimulation modalities aimed at reducing pain.
