    Earn 1.0 credit
This is the third in a series of activities focusing on MWL. This activity focuses on the physiological processes that occur in obesity and cause fundamental changes in neurocircuitry that impact mental and physical health, sleep, aging, and the experience of pain. • Discuss obesity as a chronic and complex disease and describe its classification and long-term effects.
    • Describe how the MWL program is structured to promote sustainable weight loss and how health care team coordination can most effectively support individuals in weight loss.
    • Identify the rationale and mechanisms-of-action behind anti-obesity pharmacotherapy and discuss current and potential medications and their indications.
    • Review the short- and long-term effects of obesity on mental health, sleep, aging, pain, and the development of neurocognitive impairment, as well as the influences of bias, stigma, and discrimination on these processes.
