Understanding Secondary Hyperaldosteronism

Hyperaldosteronism is a condition of excess aldosterone production. This activity focuses on secondary hyperaldosteronism, where the trigger for the aldosterone production comes from outside of the adrenal glands. This activity reviews diagnostic criteria for secondary hyperaldosteronism and provides guidance on treatment as well.

Dr. Heath is board certified in nephrology and internal medicine. He completed medical school and internal medicine residency at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, followed by a nephrology fellowship at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. He subsequently entered private practice in nephrology in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas.
