Throughout these activities, faculty will discuss the keys to optimize the management/benefits of individuals undergoing organ or blood/marrow transplant. Participants will learn about advances, trends and updates on relevant topics within this field.

The Medical Director and Clinician Leadership Forum is designed to bring medical directors and other executive clinical leaders together to learn from nationally recognized practitioners and thought leaders. Faculty will share their insights into topics that are critical to the management of large patient populations.

This activity will provide learners with an overview of clinical considerations in adults with IDD and improve communication skills and practices that can better guide treatment choices to address the specific needs of these individuals. Learners will take a closer look at existing bias, stigma and discrimination toward these individuals and learn strategies to address these issues in practice. Lastly, the value of improved interprofessional team collaboration between health care professionals (HCPs), caregivers and direct support professionals will be discussed.

This presentation exams the challenges surrounding rare-disease diagnosis and treatment, delving further into the significant impact of the diagnostic odyssey on adults, children, and their families as they seek care for their rare conditions. A panel of individuals speak about the challenges of their own rare-disease odysseys and provide insight into the pronounced effects their prolonged and necessary diagnostic pursuits have had on their personal lives, finances, and physical and mental health.
