Bladder cancer (BC) is the tenth most common cancer worldwide, and its associated five-year survival rate declines rapidly (from 96% to 6%) as it progresses from in situ through local invasion, regional spread and finally to distal spread. Thus, early detection and timely therapeutic interventions are crucial to improve outcomes and reduce the burden of disease. Outcomes have been further improved by the integration of recently approved therapies for BC, the utilization of biomarkers to guide treatment plans and the opportunity for eligible patients with BC to enroll in clinical trials. For all treatment plans, effective communication among the health care team is crucial for providing comprehensive care for this condition. This activity will provide participants with an overview of early BC diagnosis and its impact on survival rates. It will explore recently approved therapies for BC both as standalone treatments and in combination with established therapeutic approaches. Emerging therapies and their potential benefits will be examined, and the value of biomarkers will be discussed. Participants will gain insight into treatment strategies to optimize patient outcomes in BC.

Early childhood ruptured attachments, adversity and trauma experiences have significant impacts on health, development and well-being throughout the lifespan. Understanding these impacts and learning care strategies that can enhance professionals’ and caregivers’ abilities to prevent or mitigate these impacts can reduce the incidence of health crises and improve overall well-being and quality of life. Participants will learn the fundamentals of attachment patterns, developmental trauma and associated behaviors and will discuss strategies for working with traumatized children and supporting parents and caregivers. This on-demand webcast will provide an essential foundation for understanding the need to implement new care practices and will advance participants’ knowledge of cutting-edge attachment and trauma-response care in their professional and personal lives.

This activity will provide health care providers with increased awareness surrounding these issues so that communication with LGBTQ+ people is respectful and sensitive. It will review how patient-provider interactions can be more supportive of the individual’s needs, how to take a full history and perform an inclusive and affirming physical exam, and how health information can be thoughtfully documented to provide accurate information regarding health issues, screening recommendations and risk prevention.
