Diversity, Health Equity and Cultural Responsibility, Where Are We Now?

June 21, 2023

Activity description

Currently, the disparity in premature death rates between racial and ethnic groups continues to increase and health-inequity related health care costs are rising; for these reasons, advancing health equity through strategies that aim to provide affordable high-quality care addressing all levels of need has become essential. On an organizational level, leveraging the collective power of innovative team culture through diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives can promote the advancement of health equity solutions through improving organizational performance, increasing marketplace impact and strengthening professional relationships. This activity will equip participants with knowledge regarding the current landscape of health inequities and will discuss UnitedHealth Group’s (UHG’s) DEI mission and ongoing initiatives to create sustainable change. A comprehensive overview of the key pillars, goals and strategic framework of UHG’s vision will be discussed, and resources and primary areas of focus will be highlighted.
