Conference Format

Sessions are broken down by organ focus, so you can attend the section or sections that best fit your personal continuing education needs. Our faculty consists of world-renowned leaders in the field of transplantation.

  • Identify the complications and issues that can result from ventricular assist device implantation and heart transplant.
  • Relate the circumstances of when to perform living donor liver transplant, including building a flawless donor experience.
  • Identify how preemptive kidney transplant can result in better outcomes and quality of life.
  • Evaluate the financial aspects of living donor transplantation and its impact on the bottom line.
  • Describe how auto islet cell transplant can provide relief from the intractable pain of chronic pancreatitis.
  • Examine the future of kidney transplant in the era of an aging population and increasing numbers of patients with sensitization issues or metabolic disease.
  • Identify new treatment options for patients with bone marrow disease, as well as strategies to prevent complications and/or relapse.
  • Discuss the advantages of weight loss surgery for patients with hepatic dysfunction.
  • Recognize ethical issues regarding transplantation.
