After completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Summarize current guideline recommendations for screening strategies for prostate cancer and examine safety and efficacy data for recently approved novel and emerging therapies.
- Explore advances in chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell immunotherapy for relapsed/refractory malignancies and the associated potential lethal toxicities.
- Discuss best practices and emerging therapies for myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and identify genetic prognostic factors that may influence treatment strategies.
- Examine the current state of the national opioid epidemic, its effect on organ donation and transplantation, and the ethical issues surrounding the donation of organs from high-risk donors.
- Describe how the medical home model facilitates care for children with special needs through an interdisciplinary team and patient-centered approach.
