Join us as leaders from Northwestern University Affiliated Transplant Centers (NUATC) highlight developments in the management of transplant patients and provide an overview of emerging innovations in the field of transplantation. NUATC is the alliance of two major transplant programs: the pediatric programs at Children’s Memorial Hospital and the adult programs at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Take advantage of this opportunity to get an inside look at one the nation’s top transplant programs. The NUATC tour will provide an opportunity to view the in-patient transplant unit and out-patient transplant clinic, as well as to speak with clinical staff about the transplant process. In addition to touring the transplant program at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, they are excited to offer you the opportunity to tour the new Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Children’s Memorial Hospital is moving in June 2012 from its Lincoln Park campus to the downtown campus of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, becoming the Ann & Robert H. Wellness Screenings

Back by popular demand, Wellness Screenings will be offered to all conference attendees at no cost during this year’s conference! Preventive health screenings and flu vaccinations will be provided on Thursday between 7:00 and 11:30 a.m. You may participate in one or both these offerings. Screenings take approximately 15–20 minutes. Instructions for scheduling an appointment will also be included in your registration confirmation.

Workout With Vanessa

When:  Friday, September 14

Jump start your day by joining Vanessa Underwood for a workout session that promises to both energize and motivate. Vanessa will lead her own version of Zumba—a fusion of Latin and International music that includes dance themes to create a dynamic, exciting and effective fitness program designed for participants of ANY LEVEL! The session is a cardio-based workout with components of resistance/sculpting training for the entire body.

Vanessa Underwood is the founder and owner of “Underwood’s Sports & Fitness” where she trains and educates people of all ages and fitness levels. She is a cancer survivor and three-time kidney transplant recipient. Vanessa travels nationally and internationally to implement fitness programs, educate professionals, and motivate patients through a presentation program called, “Moving to Wellness” that emphasizes the vital role that exercise has on the quality of life.

Ms. Underwood’s certifications include Cancer Exercise Specialist (CES), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), and Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA).
