In addition to our in-house clinicians, OptumHealth Education (OHE) engages a wide variety clinical expertise when developing and implementing our educational activities.

Actively practicing medical experts are engaged both in the planning process and as faculty for our accredited activities. Faculty presenters offer information to their peers who are either involved in the same areas of practice or practice as medical directors within the healthcare industry as experts in a specific clinical arena. Evidence-based practices are the focus of our activities in all formats.

OHE also partners with academic medical centers as CE co-providers for some of our activities.  These activities focus on the importance of interdisciplinary teams within the healthcare system – as timely and consistent management of the whole patient requires an actively involved team approach to meet all of the patient’s immediate needs, including those of the patient’s support system.

This whole patient approach results in a breadth of relevant clinical topics to be developed and offered to our learning audiences.  Examples of the areas in which topics are developed include:

  • Behavioral Health
  • Cardiology
  • Disease Management
  • Managed Care
  • Neonatology
  • Oncology
  • Palliative Care and Hospice
  • Pediatrics
  • Transplantation
