About This Conference

This unique, two-day event offers an overview of the latest advances in transplantation and the management of organ failure. World-class experts from one of the largest and most experienced transplant centers in the country will discuss clinical and laboratory research efforts in the fields of heart, lung, liver, kidney, pancreas, and stem cell transplantation.

Speakers will review and discuss the challenges they face today, sharing their visionary approaches to the future, including the subjects of transplant ethics, auto-islet transplantation and cell therapy for diabetes, stem cell transplantation, bloodless transplantation, nanotechnology, and weight-reduction surgery as an option for obese patients in need of transplant. The small-group format will be structured to create an experience for all attendees that allows for direct and personal interaction with each speaker.

Optional guided tours will be offered for the Methodist J.C. Walter Jr. Transplant Center; The Methodist Hospital Outpatient Center; and the Methodist Institute for Technology, Innovation & Education (MITIESM).
