Breast Cancer Update
This educational activity consists of recorded presentations from Advances in the Management of Oncology Patients held in Orlando,Florida on April 6-8, 2011.
According to the National Cancer Institute (NCI), breast cancer is the most common type of cancer among women in the United States (other than skin cancer). Each year, more than 192,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer, but thanks to improvements in treatment and early detection, millions of women are surviving breast cancer today. Breast cancer survival rates have increased and the number of deaths declined, in part due to earlier detection, new treatments, and a better understanding of the disease. This presentation will provide a breast cancer update with a focus on awareness, treatment and prevention.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this educational activity, participants should be able to
- Describe strategies for addressing breast cancer survivorship issues.
