Physical illnesses like diabetes, cardiovascular disease and musculoskeletal pain are associated with behavioral illnesses. Likewise, individuals with behavioral illnesses such as depression or anxiety disorder are also more likely to experience poor physical health. These findings indicate that primary HCPs would benefit from additional support in investigating and diagnosing behavioral illnesses in individuals with chronic physical conditions.
