Kidney Transplantation in the Highly Sensitized Recipient

The purpose of this presentation is to provide information on the barriers to being highly sensitized while listed for a potential kidney transplant and approaches to transplanting a highly sensitized patient.

Learning Objectives
At the end of this educational activity, participants should be able to

  1. Describe the barriers to being highly sensitized while listed for a potential kidney transplant
  2. Identify laboratory methods used to measure one's sensitivity
  3. List 3 different approaches to transplanting a highly sensitized patient
  4. Explain how paired donation works
